No Subject

I have a question about using the Xconfigurator command. When i try to use a
different video card other than the one i choose during installation i my
system goes back to the root propt and says:

    server doesnt exist, cant continue
tried to use ../../user/X11R6/bin/XF86_*******       (the ***** being
whichever card i choose)


I am running redhat 5.0 with a ATI 3d Rage Pro card(mach 64). I realize this
particular card isnt supported by my version of XFree86. Can i just use the
ATI mach 64 chipset or do i need to use either the VGA16 or SVGA Cards
