Mouse problems

I have an Microsoft Intellimouse (three buttons, third being a roller) with
a PS/2 connection.  The PS/2 mouse driver works fine but when I choose
Microsoft Intellimouse in the XF86Setup program, it does not work.  Has
anyone else had the same problem or perhaps someone can offer a solution.
