I don't need to try, as I know what zless is and that you see the
filenames if you do that. But after getting flamed for the 'REAL
linuxer's way' of doing things I wanted to make sure that the function
tar itself provides for the exact purpose you were talking about, was
mentioned on the list.

Your intention was clear of course and as you said: "There's always more
than one way to do things" (btw: That's the Perl motto :-) I wanted to
demonstrate the straight way as I occasionally present curved ways.
