Crtl + Alt + Delete no longer works
running the shutdown or the halt or the reboot in /usr/bin or /bin do not
work
the /sbin/shutdown command does still work so does the telinit command when
just typing in halt at a bas prompt it gets an error loading libXext.so.
this is because after uninstalling XFree with RPM I also
rm -fR /etx/X11*
rm -fR /usr/X*
by checking another system I see that this would have indeed removed the
library in question. my question now is how can I get them back!!! I
completely wiped the entire thing because I wanted to make sure I was
getting fresh copies of everything due to the problems I've had Upgrading to
XF86 3.3.5 (the X font Server thing) so I downloaded all of the RPM's from
ftp://updates.redhat.com and was planning on upgrading directly (maybe this
way I'll get my font server back. What are the rpm that I would have to
force to get all these files back?
