No, cntl-alt-del is captured by linux and is executed as "shutdown -r now." This
does a controlled shutdown of all serves and saves files to the HD, unmounts all
drives, then re-boots tha computer. A much more elegant way of executing the
three-finger salute than was implemented on the DOS/WIN side.

Yes, my wife is very slow to change too, she is still using some programs from
win3.1, that work very fine (thank-you very much), but I am slowly starting to
convert her. We recently purchased a computer that came with win98 preinstalled. I
now have it dual boot with linux and win98. Guess what, those old 3.1 programs don't
work under win98 (and what is more they are both MS programs!!!!). Using Vmware I
have win95 running as a virtual machine inside linux. It allows her to use her old
programs while converting over. What is more I now have StarOffice running on both
linux and win98 so she can use it in both environs, further bringing her into the
linux world.

However, for the kids running their games, you still get the best performance
running in the OS they were written for, so we continue to run in a dual boot world.
However, the kids have found many realy good games coming with linux, gnome, and
KDE, so they want to run in Linux too.

I once read an article that made the argument that the success of MS was not Office,
but that is was a great gaming environment. Well, I see the kids running whatever
enviroment gives them the games they want, sooo .... maybe there is some truth to
that.
