Richard,

Thanks for the response. I realize that root should run netcfg, and
assume I su'd to become root before doing so, but perhaps not, and
perhaps this is the penalty one pays in nefcfg for negligence ;-)

Well, my comment was because I was fairly confident the network file
is set up right.

Yes, I could do that, although runing the commands as I'm doing now
does not let me get lazy and forget there is a problem ;-)
