Ray explained nicely about the politics of what you suggest.
What i would like to know is why you need such a tool, and just what
hardware are you talking about.

Linux supports most hardware which has accessable programming data for
chipsets used.

Futher more i dont quite see how you are going to eliminate 50% of problems
which i and most probably other more experianced linux users consider not to
be presant.

Really its the other way round, Windows is the Operating System with all
the problems not Linux.

In this area we call MS-DOS related software "crippelware".

You tell us what devices you belive are unsupported, we can then help you
further.

If you are talking about Modems designed for Windows use ONLY, then thats
your problem, its a well known fact, Winmodems dont work under Linux
because there manufactures wont supply the needed data to write device
drivers.
