Plus most drivers that make it into the Linux kernel are open source and
under the GPL.  This is a good thing if one of the drivers has a bug, a
kernel hackers can jump into it's source code and "look" for the bug,
instead of complaining to the commerical company that their closed source
Windows driver doesn't work on a unsupported OS that it was never meant to
run on.  Most commerical manufactors won't have a problem discard such bug
reports.
