I experience the same problem with a hung modem after a non-gracefully
disconnect after 2-4 days of system uptime. The problem only occured with
2.1.x kernels (i used 2.1.101 - 2.1.115 before I just gave up and went back
to 2.0.x). I have a zoom intenal K56Flex modem and the intit string is
properly set.
