Using an internal modem makes the whole thing looking a bit different. I
assume the glitches on your new SupraExpress (hopefully not the same
product as the 'Zoom Internal K56Flex' mentioned by
[EMAIL PROTECTED]) are not related to the dropping connections
of your Newcom.
There is not much left I can think of.
Proof me wrong by moving your modem over to COM3 - if possible (my tip
concerning 8514A). If the problem still consists it's up to your
modem/telephone hardware. Sorry. How about a firmware upgrade?
If your modem is initialized correctly (on many modems most effectively by
AT&F), using V.42 error correction mode (AT\N3) and giving the modem the
chance for resync by emitting AT%E1 there shouldn't be any glitches,
hangups or lockups (According to http://home.ican.net/~cstumpf/modems/
'AT&F2&C1&D2S11=60L3+ms=56' seems to be a good init string).
You'll perhaps also want to take a look at
http://www.sirius.com/~alien/56534028.htm and others.
