OK, just did that and it really does work! The config for the 2.6.12.1 is directly copied from the 2.6.11.8 one , only with a make oldconfig, There are errors in the log though, but they seem not to influence the workings of the device. Maybe a result of the USB 2.0 stick in 1.1 port? The log look like this: usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning Vendor: Generic Model: USB Flash Disk Rev: 2.00 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep1in 5e160000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep0out 5e120000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep2out 5e0e0000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep0out 5e120000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep2out 5f0e0000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep0out 5e120000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep1in 5f160000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep0out 5fc20000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep2out 5f0e0000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep0out 5e120000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep1in 5f160000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep0out 5e120000 cc 5 --> status -110 ohci_hcd 0000:02:08.0: urb f33ded60 path 2.4 ep2out 5f0e0000 cc 5 --> status -110 SCSI device sdc: 127488 512-byte hdwr sectors (65 MB) sdc: assuming Write Enabled sdc: assuming drive cache: write through SCSI device sdc: 127488 512-byte hdwr sectors (65 MB) sdc: assuming Write Enabled sdc: assuming drive cache: write through sdc: sdc1 Attached scsi removable disk sdc at scsi2, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 usb-storage: device scan complete I will now try 2.6.11.8 on the embedded board and see what happens. This is getting weird... I still wonder about non-initialized registers/variables.
