Unfortunately I do not have CGI skills either. And, as everybody, I am busy too. What I can contribute is some experience in building Red Hat modules which is quite easy+testing with some modules under few Red Hat versions. > This is the standard, complete way, it allows custom patches to the kernel > and everything else. Let's assume that only one/few modules in USB tree need to be built. > I am unsure if many OEMs will be happy giving their sources to someone, > even under NDA. I think asking them to install this cgi-bin machinery and provide drivers by themselves could be too much. > A simpler way would be to create a software (mostly set of scripts) that > does all the work and runs a Web server on its own. For the beginning it would be useful to have tools which would allow to compile Linux newbies drivers for their kernel. The hard thing maybe dealing with many kernel versions - patches usually do not work for all kernels > The most difficult part is to find someone who can lead such project. I am quite busy right now and I won't have much time before summer 2003 or until I am fired, whatever happens first ... :) But I would be glad to help with part responsible for Red Hat modules.
