that's great!  I'll be happy to add something about the ftdi chip
stuff once I get it going.  I'm sure lots of other people are going
to be talking to the thing as time goes on.

They (FTDI) just came out with a "B" version of the chip which is much
easier to use from a hardware view.  I think more people will be putting
it into more devices, especially if the software is is already simple and
ready to go.  Mostly it is, but we gotta have the manual explain it
better.
