Which version of pcmcia-cs do you use? Or maybe you use kernel pcmcia modules?

Here it's a 2.4.24 and pcmcia-cs (no kernel pcmcia), and it claims that the
card is not known when I plug it in:

        kernel: cs: cb_alloc(bus 5): vendor 0x1033, device 0x0035
        cardmgr[208]: unsupported card in socket 1
        cardmgr[208]:   no product info available
        cardmgr[208]:   PCI id: 0x1033, 0x0035
