Well, I don't know much about slack internal stuff. The only way to get information
would be to look at the system log when you plug the pcmcia car in. Or to know
how slack is built over pcmcia support (pcmcia-cs or kernel modules only).

Could you eventually provide me privately an excerpt of your system log (probably
/var/log/message or so) that corresponds to the plugging in of your cardbus? This
would help me figuring out how it can work for you and mayb how I can make it
work for me.
