You will probably need to do this before inserting a disc in the drive (but after plugging the drive into the computer, of course). Before mounting the drive may be good enough.
I tried reducing max_sectors to 112, then I tried 64. The same thing happens.
Can you send or make available on your web site the usb-storage debugging log?

Aiee! No can do. The last verbose debugging log that I had was from before I recompiled my kernel yesterday night. I can however, try to reproduce the errors.
