This has been covered SO many times. http://www.leo.co.nz will sell a laptop with no os on it. They also have beautiful sparc enote stations http://www.leo.co.nz/notebook/777s_enotestation.htm, but what i'm talking about is ther other products. I had an email discussion with their manager some time ago, and posted the results here and nzlug. The ms eula used to say "if you don't want our os return it for a refund", there is a great story on the net about how one guy did get his dosh back.
