Yep. Knoppix runs directly off the CD, its known as a Live CD. You don't
need to have a working (or any) linux on the system that you demo it on.
You can download it from ftp://debian.co.nz/isos/Knoppix/ if you have a 
CDR and want to have a look at it. Also, it might be interested to read
