As I said - its the main linux box, and as such does squid and samba,
dnet perproxy, and acts as a mail spooler (between the nasty world and
the nastier ms exchange server) 

I can't just take it down during the day.  

memtest86 is cool - its apt-getable in debian, and you can do this
        dd if=/boot/memtest86.bin of=/dev/fd0
and you have memtest-on-a-bootable-disk.  Great for non-linux x86 boxes.

UPDATE

It crashed again - despite having mem=900M as a boot param.  I've
whipped out half the ram and its now running on 512Mb

The CPU temperature is 29 degrees C, and the board is at 25 degrees C,
so its not a heat problem.
