Which is why decent brands are now no longer on the market. If anyone
finds a proper translation of the Dutch article instead of just another
mention of it I'd be interested in a copy.

Carl's MO drive is no doubt convenient now, but that says little about
longevity. Durability of the media is only one factor which needs to be
considered. The next one is whether there will be any hardware in 10
years time which is still able to read that media, same for software
(these are serious problems for any archivist).

I would venture a guess that the only technologies still readily
available a decade later will be the ones also used in consumer
electronics. Having gained a large market acceptance is a necessary
condition. (5.25 + 3.5 floppies, DAT, of course they don't have durable
media).
