I tried reinstalling the redhat 3.2.x gcc experimental version tonite.
It installs, but soon as I try to scan it segfaults...

And I tried my luck with the 2.96 version again. First, nothing. Then, I discovered that iscan has added a new file:
/usr/local/etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf

which contained the line
scsi EPSON
so I thought, "ha!" and zapped it with a "#". And now I get a segmentation fault. Sigh.

So what on earth is a segmentation fault anyway?
