Hi there,

Installed from binary RPM, which installs OK, but the binary segfaults
as mentioned previously...

After removing the binary RPM yes, firstly with SRPM, then after that
failed to complete I tried again with tar.gz version...

The last line is this...

upeek: ptrace(PTRACE_PEEKUSER,8333,44,0): Operation not permitted
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Downloads]#

Other than that it has a number of 'No such file or dir' messages relating
to Gtk files, and some more relating to various incarnations of
libpthread.so.x (libpthread.so does exist but not with a numerical suffix)

Thats a rough call. Much of what I'm trying to figure out here I would
believe is the domain of a knowledgable programmer...something I am not.
I have tried all suggestions put forward from CLUG, as well as others I had
read elsewhere...

It is obvious to me that something about Iscan prevents many users from
being able to run it. The forums on the Epson website are chock with
messages from people having the same problems as me, and collectively
no-one has been able to figure out a solution that is able to cure the
problems for all.

Its just frustrating that after spending that much money on good faith (
and seeing some reward for it under Mandrake 9.0) that I cannot continue
to enjoy that under Mandrake 9.1

There will be a solution sometime, but perhaps the Windows drivers are
the only one for me currently? This is no flame-bait...I need to use
that scanner at its best quality asap...

Kind regards,

Chris Wilkinson,
Christchurch.
