well i don't think it requires any twisting at all - surely openness(sp?)
in software reflects a desire/belief in an open society/world?
rhetorical thingy follows:
like whats the point in OSS if we're living meanwhile in a draconian
totalitarian society?
why to liberate that society of course - see china for example.

seriously though this whole "migrant hordes threaten our beloved way of 
life" shock horror schtick becomes somewhat sick making (in a tiresome way)
to any with historical sensibilities.
i said historical not hysterical, the latter trait being a signal feature
of those prey to such fears.

now how's that for bait?
