H'mm, does anyone know - is it possible to dispense with the pots phone line
and do ALL phone calls (ie incoming as well as outgoing) via the broadband
connection yet. If it were possible, the saving on line rental would make the
cable braodband more affordable - just a thought.

I have looked into 0800 type mobile plans and what not, but there was no real
gain in going that way that I can determine anyway.

I'd go along with that. The only downside is that afaik there is no 10GB/2MHz
plan. The upside is that their e-mail spam filter is very good indeed.
They have recently increased the 'open-to-network' time before speed
throttling starts so that the PS2 network games will work. It has the side
benefit that web pages seem to d/l almost instantaneously.

Do please install a firewall, there is no DDOS protection.
IPCop has served me well.
