After my DVD writer problems last week I swapped the drive today for a brand new one of the same model (BTC DRW1116IM 16x Dual Layer).
Unfortunately I still have the same problems so this definitely seems to be a linux compatibility issue of some kind. :( Can I please have your recommendations for great linux compatible Dual Layer DVD+/-R/RW writers at a great price? Thanks!
