B,
In response to what I've read here today...
1. post your address and phone number to list and we'll have a chat.
2. Tell me what you've done so far to get this equipment running ('I've
just done the basic install and don't know what to do next' - is a fine
response to me, just want to know where you're at).
3. Have you got ADSL account set up on your phone line?
4. Come borrow one of my adsl modems to keep you running while we
work out how to get your usb gear doing.
5. Don't go buying new equipment just because linux isn't up to the
par... Man I'll come install windows on your machine before I surcome
to that!
Cheers Don

This could be somewhat problematic.
See:-

You'd be almost certainly be _much_ better off getting an Ethernet/ADSL
bridge. Such as a XH1173 from Dick Smith, take care I've only looked up
the number on their WWW page. OK it's $112 or so but it'll be plug-in and
go.
also the USB 2.0 drivers and printer.
ditto
