It is possible that - if you resized your Windows partition to admit GNU/Linux - Windows has had its 'pagefile' (swap memory) size reduced significantly. This could degrade performance, especially if storage space has become critical. What are the hdd/RAM stats please? Reconfiguration in these areas may help.
