Yes, you have. People's time is most definitely not free. Some people may choose to offer their spare time to helping others. Others may not. There is a great community with Linux where people will help you figure things out for yourself. The reason you would pay someone $60 is for them to take time out of their day to come and fix your computer for you. Linux is free as in speech, not necessarily free as in beer.
