This is not a critical error, and you can ignore it.  It is caused by the 
kernel erroneously detecting a multiprocessor system, and later on 
discovering it is not (and issuing the error message).  Unless the machine 
stops at that point it should continue to boot.  I've got Mepis and Knoppix 
if you want me to come round and try them instead.
