Hi Christopherthanks for all that info, I have downladed that latest modem version you suggested so might have a go at installing that later. Yes I am not sure if everything has been sorted out on the current one or not, I still wonder if the Country setting is correct but dont know how to check it. ok on the wvdial, I assume from what you say, that the file must have a .deb suffix to work with
