Firstly apologies I wasnt aware that attachments were not allowed, it
just seemed an easyway of showing what I was getting, I will refrain in
future.
Results of ls -l /etc/ppp/*secrets
-rw------------ 1 root dip 94 2006-08-29 01:51 /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
-rw------------ 1 root dip 1750 2006-08-29 01:51 /etc/ppp/pap-secrets
restored setting to +pap
now back to original results with time out error 16
in regards to
pap-max-authreq, pap-restart, & pap-timeout.... I assume that if these
are not set then
it will go to the default settings for them........ they are not set at
present.
with my VERY limited knowledge of this I cannot see any other settings
within the options that could be set to change what is happening.
Regarding Minicom...
I downloaded the foloowing files
minicom_2.1.4,woody.1.diff.gz
minicom_2.1.4,woody.1.dsc
minicom_2.1.4,woody.1.-i386.deb
I guess I need to put these in a directory and then run dpkg -i * as I
did for wvdial.........
am I correct please??
