Wow you almost had me in a panic Robert...I am looking forward to
tuesday night NEXT week
LOL.
Now I am not sure about the Box Chris.... a couple of things.....
somewhere to put it.... I cannot have it permanently on line with only
one telephone line......I would have to have the local area network
running all the time.... currently I have an interference problem with
the network getting into my radio so not running all the time at
present. It would have to be sighted in the current position as that is
where the telephone Line is. I'll see what I can work out and get back
to you.
Now I should have been more explicit, I have not as yet tried setting
all these up in Linux.....that is the sounds cards etc.
when I went to use the main sound card it was having trouble with a dll
file and reinstalling the dll file got it working but would not seem to
hold there, the second sound card was not wqorking at that stage as I
had inadvertently uninstalled it a few weeks ago. After pulling out the
Modem plug
the normal sound card reinstalled and stayed there ok.
I have now reinstalled the second sound card, I disabled the first one
so it wouldnt clash on the installation and that went in fine and I then
reinstated the first sound card and that came in fine and both are
working ok.
I guess the next thing to try will be to plug the Modem back in and see
what happens. I figured that I was better off to make sure everything
was working ok in Windows before I started attacking them in Linux(I
like being a Live Chicken).
I have the built in Realtek AC97 sound card which I use with my radio
and I installed A Dick Smith CMI8738 sound card so I can use with the
internet etc.
I will try the Modem back in tomorrow morning and see what happens and I
will have a crack at the IRQ's on Linux then as well....thanks alot.
