Buy an identical model from TradeMe. Move your hard drive to it.
They're barely off the market :-/ But ok..
Run MEMTEST86 just to see if it isn't bad RAM (an easy fix- and bad RAM can
manifest itself in bizarre ways).
Diagnostics say RAM's fine. No prior attitude.
Laptop was on a table when it locked up, but I had just opened the DVD
drawer.. (which may be on the way out - first signs of wear / readability).
Buy a new laptop. Twice as good and half the price of the one you had.
Roll on Santarday. Hmmm.
