This has been my rule for ... well, a long time. Luckily the majority
of my transgressions in public occurred just before the beginning of
google's usenet archives ...

What are google's usenet archives??

My biggest list sanity measure is not to think before pressing send,
instead it is to think before even reading. I don't have to read
*every* message posted to the list; if I miss one that turns out to be
important retrospectively I have it in my Deleted folder, or on the
archives. If the thread seems to be "non-optimal", don't bother reading
it :-)
