Yes, thanks Ben, I wonder if the list server is getting slowed up by
having to requeue connections to other machines - eg Xtra, which often
has problems.

What most likely is happening, is there mailservers or any connecting party are
a) Being overloaded
b) Busy
C) Being Maintained.
D) Have Network congestion
Causing the sending smtp server to have to retry after x time.
IRC, is often logged,
1 line in any common IRC client is enough to get it logging to a http daemon
readable directory.
