The smallest coin's worth of input...

A quickish look through the transactions and balances over the last
couple of years show the balance close to or slightly over $700.
Following the domain renewal expense of $89 in August last year the
balance has generally been low to mid $600. Some months donations don't
quite cover expenses, others there's a small excess, no significant
fluctuations in the closing balance. To my mind this is quite a
comfortable situation for a non-existent organisation such as CLUG.

For me personally any of the meetings are worth $5, I'm happy to
contribute that much any time especially since I find the notion of only
eating 2 biscuits to be preposterous/impossible. I do understand
however that not everyone is in a position to do this and would hate for
anyone to be turned away on the basis of the cost being more than gold
coin. A common approach other places is eg $5 for those in paid
employment, gold coin for those who are not. Something like that is an
option for us too.

The question of a donation to SFD has further implications though.
Matching the $350 already pledged was suggested. I don't see it as
possible more than this one time, clearly the prospect of another $350
donation again in a year would be unwise or impossible. It would leave
around $300 for any other ventures or advertising.

What about topping up the $350 by perhaps another $100? What sort of
advertising space would SFD get for that?

Cheers,
Roger
