I know that several of my friends now rely on news via other mediums and have 
cancelled the newspaper deliveries.

I agree with David that if you are going to or have already spent relatively 
large amounts you need to monitor the outcomes.

Have you kept in touch with "customers"? How many are still Linux users? etc. 
etc. etc.
