Not sure I can be of help here Roger, but have now done this update
twice _successfully_ for Ubuntu Hardy on Intel platforms (single & dual
chip).

System A-OK / this Thunderbird is "Go".
Possibly a Kubuntu packaging fault, that they'll rectify & redistribute
in short order.
