Terence,

Things have changed quite a bit in Hong Kong. Since the
introduction of the new legislation against software piracy,
one does not find many shops selling pirated software, esp.
in Golden Arcade, a place which every Customs officer is
watching.
The shop I visited sells only Linux stuffs, from magazines
to Linux central CDs. Most of the time I buy the
Linuxcentral CD's,but I have also bought boxed Manrake which
I could register .
The box I bought includes 6 CDs and one DVD, plus several
the manuals, so it must be the original ( for the paranoiac,
the 'original' of the copies, maybe ).
I totally agree with your theory. Since the introduction of
the new legislation I see companies, and even home users
switching to Linux. If the installation and configuration of
Linux had not been that difficult, there would have been a
rush to switch.

Regards
Auyeung
