Hi All, After a fresh install on a different machine, I downloaded pppconfig, and did the config bit. No more issues, everything is doing what it should, and all internet programmes are accessing the net with no issues. I have not tried wvdial, or gnomeppp, as I am the only user and there is no need that I can foresee, For me this issue is now solved. I would like to thank you all for you suggestions and help.
