What I find usually works best for dial-up (on GNOME) is:
~$ sudo apt-get install gnome-ppp then start it from Applications - Internet - GNOME PPP configure for ISP. Put a shortcut on your desktop. Trouble-free use. Good luck Rik On 11/06/12 09:59, chris wrote:
Hi, Can any one give me some pointers to setting ppp as a default route, enabling me to use a modem, but still leaving eth0 as set to 192.168 .1.11 Debian 6.0.5 p4 1gig ram I have googled my eyes out, but obviously am missing something, and my lack of knowledge is showing. Regards Chris Thomas
