Hey there.

For .nz domains I use domains4less.co.nz which charges $19.95+GST per year.

For non nz domains I recommend namecheap.com. Avoid GoDaddy.com.

Basic hosting - I recommend hostgator.com. Approx $10 / month for a full cpanel control panel with as many websites, pop3 / imap email accounts, databases etc that you want + 24 hours chat / phone / email support. Bang for buck they are extremely difficult to beat and it's an easy way to set up and manage email addresses associated with your websites. I've got some coupon codes here somewhere that give the first month free so drop me an off-list email if you'd like me to find one for you.

Hi all

I'm looking into e-mail and (eventually) Web hosting for a small organisation of peculiarly non-IT-savvy folks.

The organisation's main e-mail account uses an xtra.co.nz address that belongs to the departing secretary. The newsletter editor's account uses an address in a domain belonging to her husband's company. The Web pages, sadly neglected, are hosted on a subdomain of a former member's company's domain.

We'd like to register a domain and have it hosted on an inexpensive plan with a view to centralising the organisation's e-mail there and, as time and resources permit, migrating the Web pages over.

What firms would you suggest we contact for domain registration and for hosting?
