In that case it may depend on the motherboard configuration. I've tested this on my pc and the camera kept it's settings. I've had plenty of problems with this in the past, if the camera crashes for some reason, a reboot won't solve it and it may also prevent a normal boot. Just last week I notice that my pc took much longer than usual to boot and it was also much slower, after a little investigation I found that usb audio was the cause, the camera had crash and couldn't be initiated. > In any case, there's no non-volatile memory to store the controls in any of > the consumer webcams I know of. > Yes this is true.
