I'm curious if anyone in the OCLUG has tried using de-googled android
or linux based phone OS like PMOS? How has your experience been?
Yes. I have LineageOS on a tablet and I quite like it.
I documented by calendar/contacts de-googling at
https://dianne.skoll.ca/writings/de-googling-my-life/
- K9 mail works great for anything I need
It's now branded as mobile Thunderbird, but yes, I use it.
* Web
- I've been using firefox on android forever
Also!
* Files, notes, and pictures
I don't bother with that because I don't keep important things on my
phone for very long. I use FileBrowser+ to copy them onto my
computer.
* Authenticator
- I use Aegis for TOTP, and it works great
Aegis is a fantastic app, yes!
* Maps
- This is the biggest pain point. OSMAnd I've found really
annoying to use.
Agreed. I still use Google Maps. You can use it even on a de-googled
device via the browser.
I have tried PostmarketOS, but don't really like it. Sadly, Android
still is a better user experience on a mobile device, IMO.

Dianne.
