Is the printer directly connected to the Windows machine or is it independently connected to the hub? I haven't set up a printer to print directly from a Windows machine in awhile. Step one would be to share the printer on Windows. I haven't played with Gnome's print thingie in awhile--I know on Fedora forums a few folks were having trouble and I recommended they use the CUPS web interface. (Open the browser go to 127.0.0.1:631). Make sure your firewall is letting 631 through. Actually, Nautilus might be able to find the printer with no work from you, I can check that tomorrow at work. It's much easier if the printer has its own IP address, then you don't have to worry about Samba. Ok, found it with a few seconds of googling. http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-mini/Debian-and-Windows-Shared-Printing.html#basicprconfig That's Debian specific and moderately dated, but if Gnome can't do it automatically for you, you can try using syntax (when configuring it through the cups web interface) as something like smb://windowsmachine/windows_printer Just make sure you have the windowsmachine entry in /etc/hosts.
