I have been distro shopping and studying/learning for almost a year
after spending years with Windows. I have two distros that work well
on my pc. There is a lot of truth in the best distro for you is one
that works well out-of-the-box on you equipment. I have looked at
dozens and continue to look at those that interest me. The two that
work best for me is Kubuntu 8.04, and Mepis 7.0.
If you find a distro that works on your equipment and you don't have
problems with sound, getting cds and dvds to play, wireless, or wired
internet connection then you may have found your distro.
