Hello Deepak and everybody,
<<<
I don't think we need things like requirements, what
distribution it comes with, etc.
>>>
A new users, may not be a "Computer neird" or "geek".
He/she may appreciate to know that the application
that seems to be useful for him is already included in
a distribution.
It means probably less hassle to install it.
As an example, a new user, may not know yet what a
"symbolic link" is, or how to install a downloaded
app.
It is a fact, that requirements should be on the web
page linked. We could drop that one.
I though about it, in the case an application need
anoter one to run or a specific hardware.
But I agree we could ignore it.
<<<
We should probably list no more than three
apps/category.
>>>
I agree with a small number, just do not say three.
Take Office Suite as an example, ...
<<<
In addition, the apps should fulfill at least the
following reqs:
a) Have enough information available on their web
pages ...
b) Are known to be fairly stable and usable.
>>>
I agree with both.
<<<
...do we need to list text editors, ftp clients, and
other
>>>
I agree with you, probably not, or at least not on the
same list.
Lugs, can keep a list on their website if they wish.
<<<
...there are already web sites dedicated to covering
that type of app under linux. For example
linuxgames.com.
>>>
I agree. we could simply provide a link to others
sites that already do a good job.
