I know it is not the proper way neccessarily to introduce someone to Linux but
lately I have been giving them the Caldera 2.2 distribution, with KDE. At least
to a windows user it looks familiar and their is not much interaction with the
terminal needed to get it up and running. Plus that neat MS Windows install
program helps a lot of users to install it. But RH 6.0 has the new xdm boot up
option that would probably make that easy for people to use also.

If they ask later, I help them set up whichever wm they want to use. Which is
not the easiest thing sometimes. On an old machine I try to stick with
WindowMaker if I have to. Light on the memory.
