/dev/hda is primary master
/dev/hdb is primary slave
/dev/hdc is secondary master
/dev/hdd is secondary slave

Having /hdb is counter-productive.

Numbers stand for partitions: 1-4 are primary/extended, 5 onwards are
logical.

This applies only to IDE devices.
