/dev/hdb, you mean to say, right?

AFAIK, you can't do that through the BIOS ... you need to change the disk
jumpers. Anyway, assuming you did this successfully, your 1.2 disk is now
/dev/hda . But LILO is still looking for /dev/hdb. So edit /etc/lilo.conf
appropriately and then run "lilo" from the root prompt.
